Rose Buffet
A limited edition, this unique display unit is difficult to make. It is one of my signature pieces, which you will not find anywhere else. As much art as it is functional furniture, each unit is special by the selection of wood and grain. Made from figured maple, the doors and drawer fronts use continues pieces of book-matched same log wood in 3-ply laminations so they do not warp. Unit measures about 96 inches (width) by 78 inches (height) with a depth of 16 inches.

Together with coffee tables, I find that buffets, sideboards, display units and hallway tables offer a tremendous range for artistic expression. These are my trademark units and some are a piece of art on their own, without displaying anything on them.
Some of my units may look light and “floating”, yet they are very sturdy and can carry a lot of weight. These are pieces where great joinery, spectacular woods, and elegant design can all be featured in harmony. For this category of furniture, it is often advantageous to work with the customer, designing a unit optimized for their environment. This might be accomplished by including some secondary design lines from their room or outside their window into the unit.
