Built with solid ash, walnut and oak. Railing of ash and stainless steel.
To create the calm effect on the doors (and railing) I started with 2″ flat sawn Ash lumber which I cut into countless strips of vertical grain wood which I re-glued with a 90 degree rotation. Proper orientation and book matching resulted in a very uniform and solid panel guaranteed not to warp. To complete the entire installation in this style, all trim and frame then used vertical grain cut Ash, Walnut and Oak.
